Paper Shredding for a Quarter (pre-1965)

Friday, May 13th, 2011

Hey Folks,

For a limited time, I’m accepting one pre-1965 quarter in exchange for one standard size file box of paper to be shredding down at our secure shredding facility.

If you haven’t been paying attention, silver is experiencing significant price appreciation…

And, all those old coins contain 90% silver.

Consequently, although that old quarter may have only been worth $0.25 those many years ago, they are worth significantly more today.

This is mainly due to the fact that the Federal Reserve (the US Central Bank) has been printing money at an alarming rate in order to pay for this country’s massive yearly deficits.

I’m doing this not only because I think the value of silver will significantly increase in the future, but also as a protest against the government for debasing the currency and tossing the US economy into wastebasket of history.

Since these old coins are still legal tender, I’m in effect I’m only charging $0.25 per standard size file box. But in reality, we know the real value of the metal contained ;-)

Feel free to look up the true metal value of these coins at the following website: http://www.coinflation.com/

The Best Part….

At current silver prices, you will be getting a great discount on your shredding…

Or a better way of looking at, you’ll be getting a great price for your old coinage – better than you would get at any coin shop!

So load up your old boxes of documents, grab a few old US coins, and come on down to our facility and watch everything get shredded.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to give me a call:

Have a good one,

Free X-Ray Recycling

Friday, April 1st, 2011

Hey Folks,

I just wanted to do a shameless advertisement on this beautiful San Diego Friday…

Although it’s April 1st (April Fools Day), this is not a joke!

Total Secure Shredding has recently introduced

Free X-Ray Recycling

down at our secure shredding facility.

And not only will we professionally and properly dispose of all your old X-Rays in the same effortless and convenient manner as we destroy your paper document (and Hard Drives), I’m also throwing in a special offer:

For every 5 pounds of X-Rays you bring in, we’ll shred a standard size file box of paper documents while you wait for absolutely FREE!

That’s a $6.95 value…

So not only are you getting rid of those X-Rays, you’re also scoring a Free Box of Shredding.

There’s no limit on the amount of X-Rays you can bring in or Free Boxes of Shredding you can receive.

The only thing I ask is that the X-Rays are separate from any paper documents, this includes any X-Ray sleeves.

Just as a reminder, here’s our Secure Shredding Facility Address and Hours of Operation:

3584 Hancock St
San Diego, CA 92110

Mon – Fri: 8am to 5pm
Sat: 10am to 1pm

All X-Rays are securely shipped to a recycling facility where they are melted down and completely destroyed in full accordance with HIPAA requirements.

The recycling process is greatly enhanced if the X-Rays are not shredded before recycling.

We can shred the X-Rays if necessary prior to recycling but I have found that the X-Rays themselves generally contain very little personal information but I’ll leave that up to you. The process is HIPAA compliant either way.

If you have any questions, please feel free to give me a call: (619) 295-5474

So until next time…

Keep Totally Secure,

Mike
Head Shredding Guy
Total Secure Shredding, Inc.

P.S. I reserve the right to cancel this promotion at any time so please do not delay.

P.S.S. If you have a whole lot of X-Rays to get rid of, please give me a call and perhaps I can work out a real sweet deal where we come out and pick everything up for you. If you have a lot of X-Rays, I’m willing to deal!

Paper Shredding Embarrassment

Friday, March 18th, 2011

Are you embarrassed about shredding your documents?

Hey Folks,

There seems to be a new mental disorder (maybe mental disorder is a bit too harsh) that I’d like to to call…

“Paper Shredding Embarrassment Syndrome”

Here’s how it goes:

Customers coming into my paper shredding facility often say,

I only have a few things to shred. Actually, they’re not even really that important. To be honest, they probably don’t really even need to be shredded.

So let me get this straight, you looked online for a shredding company, more than likely gave us a phone call to make sure you got all the details correct, loaded up all your stuff, and then drove down to our facility to get it shredded…

But it’s not that important? Really?

I was talking to a customer about his the other day and I think she pin pointed the exact problem…

They might be a little embarrassed.

It’s as if they will be judged “Paranoid” by me and the rest of the world since they’re going through this process of shredding all their documents.

Here’s the deal, you’re not “Paranoid” because there are tons of people out there that are getting ripped of by Identity Theft.

Did you know that ID Theft was the NUMBER ONE complaint to the Federal Trade Commission in 2010? 19% of all complaints had to do with Identity Theft!

So there’s no need to feel embarrassed that you are being overly protective – you’re not!

We’ve had thousands of customers just like you come down to our facility to either drop-off documents or to watch their documents get shredded while they wait…

You’re in great company with thousands of other who take Identity Theft seriously.

Anyway, I hope that helps if you were perhaps on the fence deciding whether or not to bring your documents down.

Until next time…

Keep Totally Secure!

I Don’t Need Your Paper Shredding Service

Friday, January 28th, 2011

Sorry, I’m not a BUSINESS so I don’t need your Paper Shredding Service

Hey Folks,

I just received a real interesting email this morning and I wanted to share it with you.

I received this email right after this person filled out the email form on our website to receive the “New Customer 20% Off One Time Shredding Purge Discount.”

I’m sorry, I just have a one time very small amount of documents to shred. I do not need your coupon after all. Please do not send me any more e-mails regarding your services because I do not have a business nor will I need your services in the future. Thank you.

I thought this was odd because obviously this person needs a paper shredding service (they’re on our website and actually took the action of filling out the email form) and felt they had too much to do themselves.

(I guess there’s always another explanation… maybe they thought they would be getting 20% off some cheap shredding machine at Staples.)

But here’s how I responded:

Hi Xxxxxxxxx,

I persoanlly have taken your email address out of our database.

Just so you know, our shredding facility located in the Point Loma Area (right behind the Sport Arena) was set up to shred extremely small quantities of paper.

We get residential customers (not businesses) in every day that just have a small quantity to shred.

We can shred up to 30 lbs of paper (which can be quite a lot for a household) for only $5.95 – And you can watch everything get shredded right in front of you. It only takes a minute or so.

This is a Smoking Hot Bargain when you consider the cost of buying a shredder and doing it yourself… Especially if you consider the fact you may burn up your shredder in the process.

Thank you for taking the time to review our website!

Best regards,

Mike

We get this questions all the time: I’m not a business and I don’t have that much that needs to get shredded.

And, we get this all the time from residential customers who just have a box or less of documents: This is such a great service! I never thought something like this existed! How busy are you guys?

The truth is that our facility was set up with the small customer in mind.

And, we charge so little, there’s not enough margin to go out and do big time advertising.

We charge just enough to help cover overhead and we offer this service more as a public service than a profit center. Actually, I hope that our drop-off service acts more an advertisement in and of itself  just to get the word out about our other service – which are more business orientated.

Anyway, I thought it was worth repeating the intended nature of our Paper Shredding Drop-Off Service.

As always, Keep Totally Secure.

Until next time,

Free Paper Shredding San Diego

Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010

Hey Folks,

I’m happy to announce that Total Secure Shredding is now offering free paper shredding down at our facility for all Active Duty Military that show up with their documents while IN UNIFORM.

You’ll have the option of watching your documents get shredded while you wait or simply just dropping them off and we’ll send a Certificate of Destruction to you by Mail or Email.

I’m also extending this to spouses of active duty military if they bring in a copy of their military orders within 30 days of transfer.

There is a limit of 3 standard size file boxes or equivalent per military member and spouse.

A standard size file box measures 15”x12”x10” and typically holds about 25 to 30 pounds of paper.

If you don’t have your documents in standard size file boxes, we’ll be able to give you a visual estimate prior to shredding your documents.

I wouldn’t worry much since most individuals (not business related) come in with less than 3 standard size file boxes. After all, we are talking about 75 to 100 pounds of paper!

There are NO other catches…

It’s basically a free shred day for uniformed military members whenever they need it!

Why am I doing this?

As a veteran myself, it has always been an unofficial policy of mine to not charge active duty military when they have brought their documents down while in uniform.

This has been something that I’ve wanted to make official for some time and I’ve finally gotten around to letting the public know.

I’ve also created a new website separate from the Total Secure Shredding main website as to better get the word out and let the military members in our community know this service exists.

Here’s the website:

www.FreePaperShreddingSanDiego.com
