Turkey Dinner 300x261 How Could This Happen!

Hey Folks,

It seems the Holidays have sneaked up on me again.

No matter how much I commit to trying to be prepared, it just never happens…

Anyway, I wanted to let you all know our Paper Shredding Holiday Schedule from now until the the beginning of the New Year.

We will be closed:

  • Thursday November 26, 2009 (Thanksgiving Day)
  • Friday November 27, 2009 (Day After Thanksgiving)
  • Saturday November 28, 2009 (I won’t know what to do with so many days off!)
  • Friday December 25, 2009 (Christmas Day)
  • Saturday December 26, 2009 (Another Long Weekend!)
  • Friday January 1, 2010 (Happy New Year!)

With so many days off, we’ll have to work overtime in the New Year to make sure all your Get Organized and Shred Resolutions get taken care of!

We will also be working very hard to reach all our Reoccurring Shredding Customers during those three days work weeks at Thanksgiving & Christmas.

I will get everyone squeezed in even if it means I have to show up with scissors in hand!

As my friend Jesse, a West Point Graduate, says, we’ll be doing a lot of “Firing and Adjusting.”

All that means is to “Adjust and Overcome” – in good old fashioned Military Terms.

Our customers should expect plenty of phone calls letting them know when we will be by during those weeks.

The bad news it that there will be little room, if any, to squeeze in any new Mobile or Pickup Shredding jobs during these two short weeks. I’ve already told Vanessa my Office Manager to start scheduling new one-time shredding jobs for the following week starting Monday November 30th.

That being said, if you need emergency service, you can still give us a call and we will try everything we can to get you fit in – but there’s only so many hours in a day and we won’t be able to fit everyone.

However, we should be able to accommodate any walk-ins down at our facility for Drop-Off Shredding during the week on the days we’re open.

Other than that, have a Happy & Safe Holiday Season!

Until Next Time…

Keep Totally Secure,

Mike

I May Have Jumped the Gun!

Starting Gun 200x300 I May Have Jumped the Gun!

Hey Folks,

I was so excited to get a blog up and running, and incorporated into the design of this new web site (yes – another website edition – this makes 3 versions in 3 years) that I forgot to tell you all about why.

At the start of the New Year we will also be entering our 4th year of business as a Paper Shredding & Document Destruction Company.

As such, I felt that it was time to break free of the Shredding Industry “Web Site Mold.” Since I have a few years under my belt I might as well free myself to trying something new. I already have made a name for myself as a professional shredding company…

I see no need to look like everyone else anymore!

Wanting to do something different, I decided that I would no longer leave it up to potential customers to try to weave together what exactly we’re about by clicking through the massive number of links I had posted all over the previous website. (I’m sure if you look, you’ll be able to find the old site – I haven’t taken it down – I’ve basically just added to it.)

So I’ve put together long copy letters for each of our services (Mobile, Pickup, Drop-Off, & Reoccurring) trying to give each potential customer a complete picture of what the service offers – including prices.

… And at this point, I no longer care if every last competitor of mine knows what I’m charging. I’ve set my prices (For Now) and I’ll continue to make changes as necessary. I’m sure they all have an idea of what I’m charging anyway.

Also, this new format might result in fewer phone calls. But I figure doing it this way I’m already giving my potential customers great service right off the bat. (Which is what I’m all about anyway?)

And since we don’t “Brow Beat” callers just looking for a quote with pushy sales methods – I might as well give them what they are looking for when they are looking for it – You’re busy just like me… Why not make the most of everybody’s time?

Along with that, I’ve decided to incorporate a blog as the Total Secure Shredding “Home Page.”

I don’t know if this is a great idea or not… but I can’t find anything on-line (Neither Good nor Bad) about a business that has incorporated a blog as a home page.  (I may be starting a new trend for all industry – Not Just the Paper Shredding Industry!)

… Either that or it will turn out to be a monumentally stupid idea – in which case I will make it go away and try something else.

My ultimate goal is to create enough of a blog following as to have actual conversations with my potential and actual customers. This will result in:

  • Letting everyone know that there is an actual real live person who has put all this together – ME!
  • Give me more insight into the needs of you – my customers.
  • With more insight, I can build a better business to service your needs…

A real “Win-Win” situation!

That being said, I hope to hear back from all of you letting me know what you think or asking any questions you might have.

Until Next Time…

Keep Totally Secure,

Mike
