If you’ve come down to our facility at any point in the last few years, you most likely noticed the donation bucket on the little table that sits next to the wall as you walk up to the View Your Stuff Get Shredding Window.
It’s been sitting there a while and I finally called to get it emptied.
First, I want to say thank you to everyone that made a donation.
Second, to my great surprise, there turned out to be over $400 sitting in there.
All the proceeds went to Wounded Warrior Homes, a local San Diego County charity that provides housing and support for soldiers returning from overseas with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as they transition back into our world.
Here’s a link to their website where you can learn more: www.WoundedWarriorHomes.org
Here’s a picture of the check:
I also took the opportunity to make a contribution from Total Secure Shredding matching every dollar that was donated into the contribution bucket.
So that’s a total of $874.10 that we all were able to donate to this very worthy cause.
You might notice that this check was written by Pink Piggy LLC.
What’s cool about Pink Piggy is that they provided the locking container and when I call them to empty it, they do all the counting and then write a check out to the charity of my choice. I don’t touch the money at all. All I have to do is mail the check. This keeps everything on the “Up-And-Up”.
They take a very small percentage for doing all this.

Again, thank you for all your support not only with my little shredding business, but more importantly with helping to give back to our local San Diego Community.
